The Halifax-Charlotte area may not be as hurricane prone as the coastal regions, but the American Red Cross must be prepared for any emergency. That preparation requires much planning and practice. Several of the Chapter’s disaster response volunteers met recently to review plans and strategies that will be put into play during a large-scale disaster. The volunteers also provide help to local families who loose their homes to fires.
“The meeting was energizing and just what we needed to grasp some really useful ideas and go forward with forging relationships and partnerships throughout our corner of the region,” said Chapter Manager, Ginger Weaver.
