You are needed by the Red Cross

All across the United States, American Red Cross volunteers help save lives--providing assistance to disaster victims, facilitating emergency communications to military families, training communities in life-saving skills, and providing community disaster education.

Disaster Action Teams

Respond to local emergencies to support victims of disaster.  Volunteers are trained to provide basic immediate assistance in times of emergencies.  Teams are on-call on a rotating basis to provide daytime, nighttime and weekend assistance.
 

Disaster Management Teams

Help develop response plans, build resources and measure capabilities for different emergency operation in one of over 20 different functions designed to manage and deliver quality services.
 

Community Education

Teach first aid, CPR, swimming, babysitter preparedness and other courses.  Courses are taught on week days and nights and on weekends.

Disaster Services

Receive training and respond to major disaster relief operations in Virginia and across the country.  Volunteers must be available for 3 consecutive weeks a year in the event of a disaster.
 

Disaster Caseworkers

Volunteers interview clients on a day to day basis, follow-up with clients, and close emergency assistance records.
 

Transportation Drivers

Volunteers are needed to drive Red Cross vehicles to provide vital transportation for medical appointments.  This service is required on weekdays during the daytime.

Generalist Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to donate professional expertise in accounting, finance, public relations, administration and information technology.  Volunteers needed to assist in community events and programs to connect with our diverse community.
